This was the dessert I shouldn’t have ordered. Because I was too full to finish my entree, which was a gigantic bowl of Bibimbap-meets-Chirashi. But when you have lunch with my mom, regardless of the fact that you declare at least seventeen times that you couldn’t possibly eat another bite, don’t so much as hesitate for a split-second when the server asks if you’d like some dessert. Because if you do, one will be ordered for you.
And if the server mentions in passing that they’re almost out of their special Green Tea Ice Cream Tempura, chances are, the order will be doubled.
I just love having lunch with my mom.
(By the way, you don’t see it in the photo, but there was a third one there, too. Because the server said they were almost out AND their kitchen was closing. You know how people stockpile bottled water and canned goods when there’s a threat of calamity? In my mom’s book, a closing kitchen is imminent calamity.)

I love your mom. These look fantastic!
What’s with all the food photos lately? Are you trying to ruin me? ;)
Your mom sounds awesome!
