Nature's crossroads

Someone FINALLY got a replacement macro converter after a few months without it.

Sigh. How I lasted this long is a mystery to me.

The Empire strikes back

Not to be outdone by Chrysler, the Empire State building demanded its own post.

I was never one to clash with the Empire.

Cuteness

Sometimes, cuteness just appears before you. It stands there, of its own volition, clowns around, and demands your attention.

Now mind you, I was sufficiently focused on the warm Turkish bread that was just brought to our table.

As I sat there with my camera pointed at the bread, the others at my table were quick to nudge me in the direction of the window. At first I thought they were just trying to distract me while they made off with my bread, but apparently, I’m too suspicious for my own good.

Fortunately, curiosity won over paranoia. So I looked up.

Whoever you are, kid, stay as goofy as you are. Because, as good as the food was that rainy afternoon, it was you that really made my day.

Good grief. How cute can one kid be?

about me

I write, cook, play music, and make pictures. Not necessarily in that order. I was born and raised in the Philippines, and it shows. That means I eat rice with every meal, love my cousins like my own siblings, and firmly believe that avocados are best eaten with cream and sugar.

If you want to learn more about me, here are 43 things I'd like to do. Here's a little something about my name, in case you were wondering. Here are some other places you'll find me:

LOST AND FOUND

One summer night in 2010, our house burned to the ground and we lost everything we had. This is the story of what happened and how life and hope can always rise from ashes.

I'm proud to belong to an amazing community of Filipino food lovers. Together, we celebrate this often-neglected Asian cuisine, sharing our family's treasured recipes and discovering new ones along the way. This is our club.
