Had lunch with my mom in Manhattan the other day, and shot this through the window.
You can’t tell from the photo, but the place was hopping. The tables outside were empty thanks to the cold autumn wind blowing.
The place had a great selection of hearty salads. I had seared yellowfin tuna salad with seaweed, edamame, bean sprouts, and a whole lot of other good, healthy stuff.
I’m sorry, this is the best shot I could get of my salad. (Actually, I was so hungry that I started demolishing the salad and this was the last corner left intact.) After that, we had some piping hot herbal tea to prepare ourselves to face the chill outside.
See how bundled up the people are outside?
Lunch was so good that I got some sashimi-grade salmon, hamachi, and tuna from the Japanese supermarket on my way home. I don’t remember the last time I had two sushi-type meals in one day. But I’m thinking that I wouldn’t mind doing it more often.
I just love having lunch with my mom. Yeah, yeah. I know. I’m a mama’s girl.

I’m a Mama’s girl too Ivory. ;) And my girls better be when they grow up, or else! I really like that “through the window” shot. I never think to do things like that…I’ll work on that!
That tuna looks spectacular!
I’m new to your site and I’m thoroughly engrossed.
Thanks fo the inspiration.

Either that window was really spotless or you’re just a great photographer – I tend to think the latter;)
The days of eating a quiet lunch.
Again someday.
Yummy!
So yummy…so yummy! What a pretty lunch.
Hi everyone! Thanks for dropping by, and welcome to the new visitors! Yes, it was a yummy lunch. I’m craving that salad right now.
MGF, it wasn’t really quiet in the place, but when I’m having fun with my mom, it’s easy to tune everything else out. :)
