Red fruits

Dat’s all she said ’bout dat.

Heavy metal wardrobe

The fashion statement of the day was this beltless lead robe hanging on my oral surgeon’s examination door.

I can tell you now, it’s not very flattering.

Steak rub

Dinner tonight was seared rib eye steak, mushroom wild rice, and salad. This is a photo of my homemade steak rub. I wouldn’t be able to tell you exactly what’s in it because it always changes.

Dream Aquarium

No, this isn’t our aquarium. It’s the Dream Aquarium screensaver that came bundled with the new 22″ monitor we got.

You are looking at this lame picture of a picture because I realized too late again today that I had less than two hours left to get a photo, and I was tired and had a stupid sink full of dishes waiting to be washed.

about me

I write, cook, play music, and make pictures. Not necessarily in that order. I was born and raised in the Philippines, and it shows. That means I eat rice with every meal, love my cousins like my own siblings, and firmly believe that avocados are best eaten with cream and sugar.

If you want to learn more about me, here are 43 things I'd like to do. Here's a little something about my name, in case you were wondering. Here are some other places you'll find me:

LOST AND FOUND

One summer night in 2010, our house burned to the ground and we lost everything we had. This is the story of what happened and how life and hope can always rise from ashes.

I'm proud to belong to an amazing community of Filipino food lovers. Together, we celebrate this often-neglected Asian cuisine, sharing our family's treasured recipes and discovering new ones along the way. This is our club.
