My el-cheapo tulips finally started opening up. I had to stick my camera right up to the edge of the petals to try and get this shot. It’s not as sharp as I wanted it, but it was the best I could do without mashing up the pretty orange petals. I thought it ended up as passable semi-abstract photography.
I wonder if these tulips had any idea what I’d be subjecting them to when I picked them up from the supermarket last weekend.
Today I attempted to make granola bars at home. These raisins and cranberries were very well-behaved, sitting together all nice and cozy in the bowl waiting to join the rest of the stuff already in the oven.
I can almost taste the sweetness just looking at this. Who knew shriveled old fruit can look so inviting?
I need a snack.
I waited too late to take today’s photo, so it was either more tulips or whatever else was scattered around in the kitchen. Which needs to be repainted.
I have so far bought four samples of colors, slapped each one on the wall, and still no consensus. If this goes on any longer, I may end up with a technicolor wall of who knows how many paint samples.
Maybe I can say it’s nouveau art for walls. Yeah. That’s it.
I almost forgot to take photos today, so I defaulted to my bunch of 20-cent tulips that are blooming nicely sitting on the kitchen table.
The kitchen lights were harsh and washed out the details of the photo, so I played around with CS3 lighting effects. I discovered that flashlight lighting usually works wonders for salvaging otherwise unpalatable views.
You know, I may be on to something here. Maybe that’s what I should do on days when the mirror has nothing charitable to say to me. I should start walking around with a flashlight trained on me.
Busy day today, and not much time to photograph anything. Unless you happen to be left alone inside the car for a few minutes, and start taking pictures of random stuff you can see outside your car window.
