Uh … that would be me. It was chilly, the aluminum stands were bitingly cold, the people next to me kept jostling around and stomping their feet, the field wasn’t brightly lit, and I was too far for my flash to be of any use. (Plus, I really hate using the flash.)
So I ended up with pictures like this:

Pretty trippy, eh?

I guess packing light can come with some funky surprises of its own.

Psychedilic! ;) Where were you when you took these?
Try a monopod for light packing
I don’t even own a tripod and don’t know what a monopod is!!! I bought Scott Kelby’s book on Digital Photography this weekend and he said a tripod is essential equipment. Would a tripod have made a difference in the photos you took even with the low light?
I think what I really needed that night was a faster lens. Or a spot right up front and yes, with either a tripod or a monopod. From where I was sitting in the stands though, I don’t think it would have mattered that much. Even if I could keep the camera still, the shutter would still have to be open long enough to let sufficient light in. And there was just too much movement on the field to get a sharp shot.
Red Rose, I thought it was kinda psychedelic too. I actually sorta like these shots. Then again, I’m actually sorta weird.
I like these pictures! So colorful and trippy!
