Okay. I know I said I’d have more pictures from the Caribbean up by the end of the week. But in the midst of unpacking, I happened to find a disc of some photos I took during my Riverside, California trip some months ago.
In my defense, I completely forgot to arm myself against a barrage of cuteness.

Aww. Look at those lips. See what I mean? And I don’t know about you, but when I’m bored, I look bored. Or stunned. Or spaced out. Or just plain weird.
But not this girl.

My niece has the sweetest smile. And she greeted me every morning with those big brown eyes, dimpled cheeks scrunched in an ear-to-ear grin, and the cutest little voice calling my name over and over again. Sometimes, she would rush to me, clutching my slippers in her little hands and running to me as if she had to save my poor calloused feet from the cold kitchen tiles. (That’s okay, baby girl. My feet couldn’t tell the difference. But it was nice of you to be so concerned about my feet.)
Yeah. Life’s good.
Not to be outdone, her brother flashed a sneak attack on me with this wicked pose the day before I left.

I swear, one of these days I’ll sneak back into my cousin’s house and “borrow” these kids. Don’t worry. I’ll bring them back. I promise.
You can trust me, right?

Oh, and I did do some work on the blog. If you look to your right, I’ve put a link to a separate site – The Poetry Hut – that now serves as home for all that writing and pretending-to-be-creative stuff that I dabble in from time to time. See? I’m not completely unreliable. At least not just yet.
